“Spirit of Odyssey of the Mind Award” for Dr. Karl-Ernst Plagemann
This is the highest honour an official may receive within the program and is awarded to only one person each year. Dr. Plagemann was honoured for his efforts in spreading “Odyssey of the Mind” in Europe.
1999
“Outstanding OMER” for Dr. Carola Gnadt
In 1999, Dr. Carola Gnadt, now principal of the Humboldt-Gymnasium Potsdam, was honoured with an “Outstanding OMER” for her dedicated work as the head interpreter at World Finals. The “Outstanding OMER” was renamed into “OMER’s Award” in 2000.
The prize resembles the international “Odyssey of the Mind Spirit Award” and is named after the founder of the program in Germany, Dr. Karl-Ernst Plagemann († 2020 – obituary). Since 2008, one individual is honored each year, who – through personal action – has contributed in a major way to the development of the “Odyssey of the Mind” program in Germany.
